The Big, Hairy, American Winning Machine
So the Houston Astros, after having a dismal road trip, have come back to Minute Maid Park with a vengeance. Playing like they were almost all season, fortunes have been in the favor of the spacemen. And one, in particular, is really raking in a lot of those runs.
That's right, folks! Your people's champion and mine....EVAN GATTIS!
On Saturday, he hit a go ahead three-run homer against the Oakland Athletics shortly after a fan kissed the bobble head of his likeness that was offered at the ball park that night. You can watch that replay here:
And last night, against Jered Weaver of the Los Angeles Angels no less, he belted another one for two runs off of the foul pole at the end of right field that displays a big Chik-Fil-A sign. You can watch that replay here:
As a special promotion offered by the ball park, all fans that were in attendance received a free sandwich with their ball park ticket stub today.
And boy, were the fans sure happy!....

Of course, one of the things that really stood out about last night's game was one particular sign that a fan held up for the cameras to see:

I couldn't agree more with that statement if I tried. This current Astros surge is renewing the love that we have all felt for this team all season, and the confidence that they will soon punch their ticket into the 2015 postseason. There's is still much work to be done. But they are tasks that this harmonious group of young men are more than up for in the next few weeks!
