Let the Dethroning....BEGIN!!!!
Defying all odds against them, the Houston Astros shutout the New York Yankees in the AL Wild Card elimination game Tuesday night. Dallas Keuchel, doing what he does best, shutout the boys in pinstripes through 6 harrowing innings for the third time in a single season. Paired with some dingers from Colby Rasmus and Carlos Gomez, and an RBI single from Jose Altuve, this now advances them to the ALDS to take on the Kansas City Royals.
I have the best of feelings about these spacemen. They're gonna go far. While how far still remains to be seen, I maintain the confidence of this team, with the best chemistry in the league in my humble opinion, being able to make a long run for it. Perhaps, even for all the marbles that is a World Series title.
The Royals should be scared of the Astros for two important reasons:
1. The overall season record: The Astros won 4 of the 6 meetings in 2015 against the Royals. Granted, the home sweep in Minute Maid Park may be harder to repeat, but it puts the advantage in favor of the spacemen.
2. The run differential: In the 6 meetings between the two, the Astros averaged 3.2 runs per game. The Royals; A mere 2.1. Another break in the favor of H-Town.
This looks to be a very interesting series. One that will, in my opinion, not be decided that early or that easily. But stranger things have happened in the post season, so all we fans can do is wait....
While we wait, let's all enjoy a real special pre-Wild Card interview conducted by Chris Rose and Kevin Millar of MLB Network's "Intentional Talk" of your people's champion and mine, EVAN GATTIS!
Evan Gattis and Carlos Gomez joking around during player introductions at the Wild Card Game.
I love seeing these guys have so much fun, all while bringing smiles, joy and laughter to fans everywhere. They could go ALL....THE....WAY!
I can feel it! :)
