California Dreamin'
The Houston Astros are American League Champions!
Do not adjust your screens, ladies and gentlemen. I'm speaking the truth. After a dramatic game 7 finish against the New York Yankees, the spacemen find themselves moving onto the fall classic. Game 1 of the World Series takes place in Los Angeles against the National League Champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers. So naturally, I had to site the hit Mamas and the Papas song for my post title.
Ironically, I was just in Tinsel Town a week ago last Thursday. For those that have not seen my pics or video of that journey, you can view said items on my Facebook page. You won't be disappointed, as I encountered many celebrity related happenings. Sidenote: I even ran into some super hero impersonators. I hope to make it back there at some point soon. Hopefully, by way of having one of my scripts green lit by a movie studio.
But I digress....the Astros find themselves there right now for a whole different reason. They are on the quest to 4 more wins against the other boys in blue, the Dodgers. My boss at Total Traffic here in Dallas/Fort Worth happens to be a Dodger fan himself. We made a friendly prediction off of one another. I have the Astros winning in 6, and he has the Dodgers winning in 5. We'll see which one of us is right in the end. Hopefully, it will be me!
Before the World Series starts tomorrow, I wanted to show you all some of the highlights from Game 7 of the ALCS. First, the final out....
I like how they got your people's champion and mine, Evan Gattis, right there at the very end of the video. His homer off of C.C. Sabathia was the crucial difference maker on offense in the game for the spacemen. I know Jose Altuve had an oppo taco of his own to right field to cap off a very impressive ALCS run. Brian McCann also had a two run double to pad more insurance runs. However, THIS blast made El Oso Blanco the unsung hero of Game 7!:
Evan was even kind enough to make this Spanish promo for Los Astros:
Evan Gattis is, and will continue to be, a key component to the post season magic. Even though he has not played in many games throughout 2017, for so many reasons I can't and have no desire to name, he is still a perennial piece to this Astros team. To think, just a decade ago, he was dealing with a lot of heavy stuff in life, trying to find himself. Now, he will play on baseball's biggest stage: The World Series.
It just goes to show that life can turn around for the greater good. Whether you're wanting to play sports, get a break in Hollywood, or even something as simple as getting a promotion at work, Gattis is living proof that things can, and do, get better. All the Astros have to do now is get 4 more wins, and they will all have World Series Champion rings graced across their fingers. The downplay that everyone has put this team through will quickly evaporate.
It won't come easy. Certainly the Dodgers will put up a very tough fight. So that means now, more than ever, the Astros will definitely have to "EARN IT!"

— Astros de Houston (@LosAstros) October 22, 2017So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen! The Astros have the AL Pennant in their hands, and are on their way to the World Series. This is only the second time the Astros have been in the fall classic. However, I truly believe it to be the charm! After all, they have everything they need from top to bottom on that roster to get the job done!
