Keeping the White Bear Big and "Giant" One Post at a Time!

I used the word "Giant" quite literally today, as it is the team that the Astros open up a two game series with tonight. But also, as promised, I am following up yesterday's post of calling out the haters and combating it with a post to help keep Evan Gattis at the larger-than-life form that he truly is to this sport and its fans.

What's my anecdote for the hater power draining and shrinking, you ask?

Simple, more fan pics for one:

A personal favorite of mine! These shirts should be on the market already!

And of course, some TRUE fan comments from Twitter:

My boy is up, yessssss

Wear it

Really need to take in an Astros game and see

Evan Gattis is a very likeable ballplayer. No gloves, no nonsense. Pure power.

Got to love Evan Gattis going and giving the kid trying to steal the base a high five.

I will always be a fan, but I'm pulling for the Astros as long as is playing for them.

It's great to see doing well in Texas.

I have chubbies, has chubbies, we're basically best friends

Evan Gattis is a god!

Evan Gattis has a sweet beard.

Evan Gattis: Best home run trot in baseball.

Evan Gattis is one powerful human being

you da man!

Thank you Evan Gattis!

Evan Gattis is just a big ass lumberjack who can hit a baseball 800 feet.

nice talking to you from train station to the ball park today, u are awesome, most down to earth ball player I ever met!

Evan Gattis was a heck of a get for Houston.

Evan Gattis just looks like he belongs in that Astros uniform
Evan Gattis. Enough said.

See that?! So long as you haters attempt to keep "shrinking" Evan Gattis and his baseball significance with your belittling cut downs, I and many others will always be there to keep him the big, healthy and friendly giant he is. Every bit of success he gets is well deserved, earned and expected. Even his shortcomings are done gracefully and with humility. He doesn't take anything for granted or boast, and is a humble and upstanding hard worker. A truly larger-than-life real people's champion, in every aspect of this phrase.

Another word of advice for you fake "fans" out there. You take away anything from one player, you take a way from the whole team. The whole may still be greater than the sum of its parts, but take a part from something whole, and it is no longer whole anymore. And trust me, the Astros don't need or deserve that right now. Especially, considering the division is still on the line. They are in need of the fan base to support every single solitary player on that team, including Evan, win or lose. Believe it or not, loyalty and devotion are admirable qualities for a person to have, not to toot my own horn or anything. But if you're a real fan of this sport, and to an extent, the Houston Astros, some of you out there really need to start acting like it! Show some respect to these players that bust their collective asses day in and day out, including Evan Gattis!

Just saying....

I'm sure this would be the smile he would give seeing this post and the fan comments, for sure!
