Mythbusters: Astros Baseball Edition
The late great Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "To be great is to be misunderstood." Well, if that really is the case, then your people's champion and mine, Evan Gattis, could be one of the greatest players to ever be in the game of baseball. Of course, literature really didn't need to come into the fold for me to believe that anyways.
However, with the constant downplaying that El Oso Blanco gets with his game play and stats, it becomes all too easy for frustration to return and rear it's ugly head. So in my constant quest to keep doing something about it, I wrote a new piece in Fansided's House of Houston to debunk the myths surrounding Mr. Gattis. You can read it in the Twitter link below.
But I digress. In this New Year, it's time to find some positive things to talk about! Thankfully, Evan and his fiancee, Kim got their marriage license a few days before Christmas. The big day is on the 14th, and I am certainly among those very excited to see them finally tie the knot. Kim was even kind enough to post a picture of them getting the license at the Harris County Civil Courthouse on Twitter:
But the shenanigans have not stopped there. Why just today, Evan took a pic of him in this awesome Christmas sweater and bottle caps on his beanie. I can't really tell what that statue is on his front lawn. Even still, this pic makes for a tremendous time with some laughter thrown in!

There will always be too many stubborn people out there that refuse to accept the actual truth of "team" value that Evan Gattis really possesses. Instead, they will only want to use him as a moving piece in a package, and look only at his "trade" value. But so long as there are those that want to tear him down, I will be there to pick him back up again. Those that know me well enough know how much my loyalty is unwavering.Evan Gattis remains the most underrated player in the league today. Here are four myths about him debunked! #Astroshttps://t.co/qoEh9yCfHQ— James I Zeankowski (@tvwizard85) January 5, 2017

Funnily enough, even with their wedding on the horizon, Evan found some time to get some rounds of golf in. With fan, mrnicktou on Reddit, no less! Golf in the bitter cold, and wearing shorts. That's how you know this guy's one tough S.O.B.!Countdown begins... 24 days! #marriagelicence #whatwedidtoday #thebirdandthebear2017 @BulldogBeing pic.twitter.com/BuKA5GfNjV— Kimberly Waters (@kimberly11ann) December 21, 2016

At the end of the day, Evan Gattis still remains way too underrated by fans and those of the CDH crowd. FYI, CDH is the acronym I came up with to stand for critics, doubters and haters. Just in case some of you were not aware of this already. It's sometimes nauseating just how much he is put down in this sport. Despite the words of Emerson, being misunderstood may be great. But being mistreated? Not so much! Please Comment pic.twitter.com/dONvjxuMBQ— Evan Gattis (@BulldogBeing) January 6, 2017
