Remember, Remember the 2nd of December!

Why is this date so important, you ask? Simple; the answer is explained in the following chart:

Nov. TBA -- Deadline for teams to make qualifying offers to their eligible former players who became free agents, fifth day after World Series
Nov. TBA -- Deadline for free agents to accept qualifying offers, 12th day after World Series
Nov. 10-12 -- General managers' meetings, Phoenix
****Dec. 2 -- Last day for teams to offer 2015 contracts to unsigned players****
Dec. 8 -- Hall of Fame golden era (1947-72) vote announced, San Diego
Dec. 8-11 -- Winter meetings, San Diego

As I have indicated above, December 2nd would be the last day for unsigned players, including arbitation and PRE ARBITRATION eligible players to get contract offers. Which means, if Evan Gattis does not get an offer or get signed by this date, the unthinkable may, in fact, transpire. That is, he could in fact be on the way to a different team. If the Braves organization is at all smart, which the jury is still out on that, they will not allow a fan favorite, slugging catcher to slip through their fingers. I don't care how good Bethancourt's arm may be, he will NEVER have the following of Gattis, and Bethancourt will NEVER have the offensive numbers that El Oso Blanco puts up. This club had better extend him and extend him well. Otherwise, they can kiss the next few seasons goodbye.
Evan Gattis - Got to love him....and keep on the Braves, by golly!

Evan Gattis plays in many a game where the marquis reads "BRAVES WIN!" If he goes, so do any chances of the Braves having a winning season anytime soon. DO NOT let that happen, John Hart!
