What Kind of Return Do The Braves Expect to Get for Gattis?
The thing that really sucks about trade rumors is, while you hold on hope that it is merely speculation, the unknown is what is the most scary. No one in the Braves organization seems to want to come to his defense and say he's not for sale.
So if the unthinkable does happen, what players from which teams are going to be sought out by the Braves? And will these returns actually be worth it? So far, the only American League team expressing an interest in Evan are the Tampa Bay Rays. But besides for their ace, Ben Zobrist, who do they possibly have to give up for El Oso Blanco?
It would be smart for the Braves do to what they can to hold onto Gattis for as long as possible. Especially, when you consider that Christian Bethancourt is far from ready offensively or defensively. The supposed "defensive wizard" doesn't seem to have nearly the amount of magic to be the starting backstop in 2015. The ball club had better recognize that.
