Dumps Like a Truck....TRUCK TRUCK!

Did I go Sisco just now? Indeed, I did. But no, I'm not referencing anything inappropriate, for some of you pervs out there. AHEM!

No, today I'm highlighting yesterday's infamously called "Truck Day." What is that, you ask? Well, allow me to tell you....

Truck Day is the day when all 30 MLB teams load up all equipment and tools necessary to get them through the duration of Spring Training. Those trucks then head on the road to the teams' respective camps. Whether they be in Arizona (Cactus League), or in Florida (Grapefurit League, the one that your Houston Astros are apart of), these big haulers provide an enormously symbolic ushering in of Major League Baseball.

Can you feel it, folks? The feeling of the warmer air settling in? The field permeating a smell between fresh cut lawn and sandbox? The sight of vendors getting their apparel and merch together? The concession cooks getting all of the delicious and tasty ballpark food fried, baked, boiled, popped and grilled to order?

That's the 5 senses of Baseball, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. It's edging ever closer around the corner. To get you readers to delve even further into your own excitements, as I can hardly contain mine, feel free to enjoy this story from The Crawfish Boxes, courtesy of Ryan Dunsmore, Managing Editor.

A Sight to Behold!!!!

Thankfully, your people's champion and mine, Evan Gattis will still be down in Kissimmee going through the rehab of his hernia surgery. And as his health permits, he will do some light baseball activities up until such time as he is ready to resume all of his training fully. I know you all will continue to join me in wishing our favorite bear a speedy and pain-free recovery.

And of course, stay tuned here to The White Bear Chronicles for all of the very latest on the Houston Astros' team progression through Spring Training, as well as the latest on Evan's rehab!
