Baseball Media's Continuing Mind Games

So far this "Hot Stove" off season, some trades and free agent signings have been made that no one has expected. Adam LaRoche to the White Sox, Billy Butler to Oakland, and Russel Martin and Josh Donaldson will now both be sporting Blue Jay uniforms. Surprises to be sure, but changes that all teams deemed necessary to compete in 2015.

However, the most hammered trades that baseball media seem to want to happen end up STILL not happening. Most specifically, trades involving Justin Upton, Evan Gattis, or both. Upton and Gattis are the two most valuable right handed bats in the entire league, and new president of baseball operations, John Hart, seems thankfully reluctant to want to get rid of either players. While beat writers continue to pursue a transaction that seems however unlikely to transpire, GM's across the board keep foiling their fiendish plans.

Some experts have even noted that trade rumors that get the most attention only play out roughly 10% of the time. Great odds for Gattis! Unfortunately however, he is still not out of the woods yet as far as possible trades go.

But for me, it becomes apparent more and more everyday that baseball media and beat writers are so hell bent on wanting to spin things in their favor, that they will go to any length to use what influence they have to pluck the very players that make teams, like the Atlanta Braves, have a remote chance at competition away from aforementioned clubs. I, for one, am quite sick of the entire fiasco. IT NEEDS TO STOP, BASEBALL MEDIA!

Do us fans a favor, and act like real journalists. Get your facts straight before you just give into speculation. You are meant to be journalists, not tabloid reporters. All of the trade posturing that you people are responsible for is exactly the kind of thing a writer from Star Magazine would try to say about The Tonight Show being cancelled, when absolutely no proof exists to support such claims. It's insulting, especially for writers like me who aspire to find the truth, and we as fans demand you all to cease this at once!

I've always been so nice to you baseball media. Why the hate?
