Rule #5: Avoid Trading Oso Blanco!
It goes without saying that my title would also be rules 1-4. But Rule #5 is a draft instituted during the winter meetings as a free for all for managers and GM's to obtain players that are not protected by any team's 40 man roster. In short, the Braves could very well try to seek out players from other teams farm systems to facilitate their needs. Consequently, other teams may, and probably will, do the same with the Braves. Some of the pitchers in the Braves farm system have already been touted as shoe ins to go to other clubs.
This is the final big push for roster moves before the end of this week's winter meetings in San Diego. It does not, however, completely clear Justin Upton, or sadly, Evan Gattis from a still possible trade. But if not moved by the end of these meetings, there could be a chance that one or both of these players might still be on the Braves roster come next Spring. I would, of course, be very joyous by the latter remaining a Brave, but honestly do feel Justin Upton should be moved to free up money and get more young talent.
But again....that could just be me.

HE should still be your man behind the plate, Braves! |
