Back to Square One....Or Were We Ever Really There?

Sometimes, I really feel like the Riddler; too many questions! To give you some updates, here goes:

1. The meeting with Jon Lester yesterday did not result in a signing. While I remain hopeful that he may sign eventually, the odds of that happening are very slim at this point. Especially, with the offer he is currently receiving from his champion earning Red Sox team.

2. Nothing new on the "Status of Gattis" as I now like to call it. The Seattle Mariners and Kansas City Royals are expressing strong interest in him. Makes me worried that John Hart may just be posturing Evan moving to left field for, instead, an unthinkable trade. I want to believe that John Hart is telling the truth about having conversations with Evan about what Evan himself actually wants to do, but how will we really know what's going on? The sad part is, we won't until something gets solidified. Unfortunately, that could take all winter to do.

Please take note of the next part of this article:

People are very quick to criticize my abject terror over this. To be honest, I really don't care. Atlanta is putting themselves in a position to get rid of one of the best players and people to have ever happened to this club, city, and Braves Country outright, and will deserve any misfortune that comes to them as a result of making such a move, assuming they do.

Quite frankly, no return from any team will be worth what Evan is. Call it childish if you will, but that is the truth. The mere thought of him being far away playing for another club does, and will continue to, scare me. If people can't or won't understand the feeling that comes from being passionate and caring about someone or something, especially when you make that personal connection, if only for a mere few minutes, then they can go get bent!

I'm going to continue fighting for Evan, win or lose. I welcome supporters, and reject anyone that stands in my way. The best things, or in this case people, in life are well worth fighting for. Evan Gattis is definitely among the best players AND people in all of Major League Baseball!

Tread carefully before you think about trading him, John Hart!

Seriously, think it through!!!!
