Why is The White Bear Being Kept Quiet? (Calling Out the Atlanta Braves)
As the GM meetings commence this week, there is room for Braves fans to be nervous. More especially, for fans of Evan Gattis, the need to be nervous is more exacerbated. What makes us Oso Blanco fans even more anxious is that no comments have been reached out for towards Evan himself, or anyone even close to him. Why is this? Are the Braves, in fact, ready to do the unthinkable? Could Evan actually be told to keep quiet to somehow soften any kind of blow that would inevitably be dealt to us fans as the means of a cover up?
Evan Gattis has always been an open book about things, so him not saying anything publicly about all of this trade rumor mess gives me reason to believe that he is being suppressed for trade, and that someone already knows something that the public does not know, and will not know, until the finalization has been completed. If this is true, then the Atlanta Braves can be ready for a world of hurt that will be felt significantly through decreased ticket sales, merchandise sales, and vastly reduced public appearance crowds. People spout out all the time about the business of baseball, but if the Braves make this move, it WILL hurt their business on ALL fronts on and off the field.
No one in that ball club and organization can get away with the phrase "We can't afford to keep him," because that is totally BS. Evan still only makes the league minimum and is cost controlled for the next 4 seasons. If anything, Braves organization, you are getting a star quality player for pennies on the dollar compared to what you give other players on that roster. You rid yourselves of a player like Evan Gattis, you may as well kiss any hopes of improving that offense, which sorely needs it, goodbye and good riddance.
I'm calling you out, Braves organization! The public has a right to know your intentions for Evan Gattis! AND WE DEMAND TO KNOW, NOW!!!!
