The Constant Off Season Uncertainty
So to recap the state of the Braves off season so far:
1. Jason Heyward has expressed publicly his desire to want to stay with the Braves. He very much deserves it. However, with a year left before free agency, the club could look to deal him.
Most Interested Ball Club(s): Boston Red Sox
2. Justin Upton has publicly released, and constantly updates, his "No-Trade" list. That means that he either a) Knows he is being traded, or b) Actually wants to be traded. It would be a shame to lose his bat, but it can be made up for.
Most Interested Ball Club(s): Seattle Mariners
3. Evan Gattis has not been reached for comment, or made any of his desires known on his social media or in any kind of statements. While I respect that he is probably attempting not to ruffle any feathers either way, a part of me really hopes that he will say something on the matter. Oh, and John Hart better make good on that promise somehow to put him in left field to keep his bat in the lineup.
Most Interested Ball Club(s): Tampa Bay Rays, Seattle Mariners, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Minnesota Twins (He's quite popular, you know?!)
All in all, this off season will continue to keep me on the edge of my seat, as I pursue extensive hopes and prayers that of the three trade targets above, that Jason Heyward and Evan Gattis are kept on the Atlanta Braves roster in 2015.
